Michael comes from a family of hockey players, having several members currently playing professionally in the NHL. Michael first had the idea to become an agent/advisor, when one of his former collegiate teammates asked if he would be able to get him a professional try-out. Having built up connections throughout his life, Michael was able to get this player a try-out, and the player ended up playing several years of professional hockey, with Michael acting as his player-agent.
From there, Michael began to explore the world of family advising. Having played junior hockey, Michael has been through the process and has experienced many situations that arise during a junior player’s career. Michael has helped countless athletes advance onto high levels of junior hockey, the NCAA, and professionally.
Michael graduated from John Carroll University in 2013, majoring in Finance and Marketing. While in his undergraduate studies Michael was determined to start his own agency and partnered with long time friend Colby Spooner. Together they created G&S Sports. In only a few short years Michael and Colby were able to grow G&S into a strong brand, providing clients the individualized attention, and meeting their needs at every step of their career.
With great success G&S was ready to expand...In 2016 they were able to posture G&S into a successful merger with International Sports Agency where they are thriving today. ISA was established in 2001 and has been an industry staple representing athletes and coaches in the NFL, NCAA, UFC, NHRA and NASCAR. As the President of ISA Hockey, Michael oversees the day-to-day operations, creating scouting schedules, family orientations, and assisting in all client matters.
Michael spends much of his time between the ISA Hockey home office in Rochester, NY and his scouting territories of Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia.
Colby’s passion for hockey started at a young age. He grew up in Rochester, NY playing AAA hockey while attending the Aquinas Institute of Rochester where he excelled both in the classroom as well as on the ice, graduating with honors. After high school, Colby attend SUNY Brockport majoring in Criminal Justice while playing for the university’s varsity program. Colby graduated from SUNY Brockport in 2013, and immediately pursed his Master’s in Business Administration at Southern New Hampshire University. While pursuing his MBA, Colby also played professionally for the Watertown Wolves in Watertown, New York. Colby received his Master’s in Business Administration in 2015.
Colby brings in 20 years of hockey experience— from playing NCAA hockey at SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles to playing professional hockey for the Watertown Wolves. He is responsible for establishing player relations, player advancement, and assisting in all client matters. Colby has a keen eye for the game and is responsible for scouting the Ontario, New England, and Western New York regions. Colby is a current resident of Rochester, New York. He is a proud son of Ken and Debbie, and role model to 16-year-old brother, Chad.
